Baja California
Sur, Mexico is one of the last big game fishing frontiers waiting to be
explored. From the early days of big game fishing when Zane Grey discovered
the area, Baja remains a land of untapped fishing and timeless beauty. As
John Steinbeck wrote in his book, The Sea of Cortez " 'Let us go' we
said…into the Sea of Cortez, realizing that we become a part of it. And so
we went."
Baja California Sur (Spanish for southern baja) is probably best known for
it's incredible big game fishing. It's generally believed that big game fish
migrate from the Pacific Ocean, some think from Hawaiian waters, around the
Cape of Los Cabos (Cabo San Lucas) and up to the Sea Of Cortez. Many
varieties of big game fish can be found here including: striped marlin, blue
and black marlin, broadbill swordfish, sailfish, dorado, wahoo, yellowfin
tuna, grouper and roosterfish.
